FFL Transfer Policies
A quick-starter guide to firearm and NFA transfers
Frontier Justice is happy to provide FFL transfer services for our clients.
Transferring a firearm to our facilities is easy, but there are a few things to keep in mind and prepare for:
FFl Transfer Fees
Members: $30 plus tax for 1-3 firearms received at the same time, then $30 for each additional firearm above three. For NFA items, the Member transfer fee is $150 per item.
Non-Members: $75 plus tax for 1-3 firearms received at the same time, then $75 for each additional firearm above three. For NFA items, the Non-Member transfer fee is $175 per item.
All transfer fees will be collected prior to completion of the background check process. Transfer fees still apply to denied NICS responses. Your firearm will not be sent back to its original FFL dealer until all fees have been collected. You will also need to reach out to the FFL to provide a shipping label to facilitate a return, or pay Frontier Justice a shipping fee. The refund will be between you and the FFL dealer. We will hold the transferred firearms for 90 days, after which the transferee will surrender them to Frontier Justice.
Delivery notifications do not indicate readiness for pickup. Frontier Justice will contact you when your firearm is ready for pickup. This may take up to 7 days after delivery.
In-Store Transfer policies
Purchases from FFL/SOT Dealers:
Frontier Justice gladly accepts incoming firearm transfers from any valid, properly licensed, and compliant Federal Firearms License (FFL) holder. To ensure a smooth transfer process, it is the responsibility of the customer (transferee) to coordinate with the selling FFL and ensure they contact Frontier Justice to obtain any required FFL documentation and shipping instructions before the firearm is shipped.
Firearms received without prior coordination may experience processing delays. All transferred firearms are subject to applicable federal, state, and local laws, including completion of ATF Form 4473, a background check, and any required waiting periods before transfer to the customer.
Customers are responsible for all applicable transfer fees and must present a valid government-issued photo ID at the time of pickup. Frontier Justice reserves the right to refuse transfers that do not comply with applicable laws or company policies.
Please note that handguns and receivers must be picked up in your state of residence.
Stabilized Braced Firearms:
We will facilitate the transfer of stabilized brace firearms. This decision may change without notice, given ongoing federal activity.
NFA Transfers:
Frontier Justice is a Class III Dealer. Follow the above instructions for purchases from FFL/SOT Dealers. For NFA items, SOT documentation and the FFL are required.
Non-Dealer/Individual Transfers:
We do not accept transfers from private individuals.
Face-to-Face Transfers:
We do not accept walk-in transfers. All transfers must come through the normal means of delivery, shipped from the FFL with all the paperwork in the box.
