Skill Level: Beginner

Prerequisites: Must be 21 years old or older

Objective: To introduce the new shooter to the basics of handguns including function, ammunition selection, care, and the fundamentals of shooting. The student should feel comfortable with the basic function of the firearm and taking it to the range for practice

Course Description: Pistol Skills 1 will take you through all of the basics of being a new shooter. The class will include approximately 75% classroom instruction and 25% range time.

Topics Covered Include:

• Revolvers vs Semi-Automatics
• Ammunition types and selection
• Loading a magazine
• Safe Storage
• Range rules and hygiene
• The 7 Fundamentals of shooting
• Live fire practice

Required Equipment:

• Personal Firearm (or you can rent one for a fee)
• 50 – 100 rounds of bass cased ammunition*
• Eye and Ear Protection*
• *Available for purchase day of class

Recommended Optional Equipment:

• Notebook and pen to take notes
• Snap caps/dummy rounds in the proper caliber
