Skill Level: Beginner/Basic; while fast paced, this is a non-shooting course
Prerequisites: Responsible adults and mature adolescents who may have part of the responsibility for home security.
Objective: To understand basic home security measures with an emphasis on developing a safe room.
Course Description: Important and basic physical security methods will be discussed with the support of PowerPoint slides and short videos. Situational awareness skills will be covered, as well as how to select a defensive position inside and outside the home in the event of an attack. Emphasis will be made on how to select and especially use a safe room inside the home. The MILO simulator will be utilized to address possible home invasion scenarios.
Session Length: 2.5 - 3 hours, depending on class size
