As gun sales increase, demand for education follows

LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. (January 19, 2016) – In the wake of national concern about mass shootings, Frontier Justice has seen a dramatic increase in the number of people signing up for educational shooting classes. Beginning February 4th, the shooting range will offer a new class to teach people first response tactics during an active shooter situation.

In the Armed Violent Intruder Response (A.V.I.R) class, participants learn realistic personal tools and techniques that will enhance their skill set to help recognize and mitigate the outcome of an armed violent intruder (or “active shooter”) scenario. Attendees, whether they carry a firearm or not, will learn first-response techniques that they can use during life-threatening circumstances.

“There’s been a lot of focus on the increase in firearms sales and applicants for concealed carry permits. But owning a handgun doesn’t necessarily prepare you with how to respond in a stressful situation,” said Bren Brown, president and co-owner, Frontier Justice. “Which is why we are increasing our educational curriculum. It’s not enough to simply have a gun. People want to know how to protect themselves, their families and those around them.”

Frontier Justice is partnering with Mitigation Dynamics, Inc. (MDI) to present the A.V.I.R. class. MDI specializes in personal protection and training for corporate, health care, governmental, academic and personal entities. The same instructors who have trained thousands of law enforcement professionals will teach their life-saving curriculum at Frontier Justice.

“It’s not about being a hero,” said Ty Moeder, Mitigation Dynamics, Inc. “These classes are about staying alive.”
